Exciting Opportunity: Cambridge University Human-Inspired AI Assistant Professor Positions
Cambridge’s Centre for Human-Inspired Artificial Intelligence (CHIA) is excited to announce two Assistant Professor positions.
These jobs are crucial to leading the new PhD and MPhil courses in Human-Inspired AI, starting in October 2025.
University of Cambridge Assistant Professor Position Highlights

Duties of an assistant professor:
CHIA’s Assistant Professors will focus on:
Teaching and Course Development: Leading the new Human-Inspired AI PhD and MPhil programs.
Research: Leading international research in machine learning, human-computer interaction, computer vision, speech and natural language processing, robotics, and mobile systems.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Advance human-inspired AI by collaborating across arts, humanities, social sciences, cognitive sciences, and more.
Community Engagement: Supporting CHIA’s long-term growth and forming collaborations with academic, industrial, and other organisations.
Qualifications for Cambridge Assistant Professor jobs:
Candidates need a PhD and proof:
Human-facing AI-related technical expertise.
Teaching Experience: Proven delivery and material design skills.
Skills in Communication: Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Interdisciplinarity: Experience working across fields.
