1. Initial Screening (Shortlisting)
Since these are lateral entry posts requiring extensive experience, applications will not undergo a written exam. Instead, they are screened based on the documents submitted online:
- Eligibility Check: The Recruitment & Assessment Centre (RAC) will screen all applications to verify essential qualifications, age limits, and required year-wise experience.
- Document Verification: Candidates must upload clear proofs of experience (like experience certificates, joining/relieving orders, salary slips, and a detailed summary of work/achievements).
- Shortlisting for Interview: Eligible candidates will be shortlisted based on their academic merit, relevance of experience, and depth of technological/scientific achievements matching the specific discipline requirements.
2. Final Selection (Personal Interview)
- The Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a final Personal Interview conducted by a selection board at a venue designated by RAC.
- Merit List: The final selection is based entirely on the candidate’s performance in the personal interview.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: To be considered for empanelment, candidates must secure the following minimum qualifying marks in the interview:
- Unreserved (UR) Candidates: Minimum 70% marks in the interview.

3. Medical Examination
Candidates provisionally selected through the interview merit list will have to undergo a mandatory medical examination. Final appointment is strictly subject to being declared medically fit according to the standards established for Group ‘A’ Technical Services (DRDS cadre) in the Government of India.
4. Verification & Joining
Before the final offer letter is issued, the organization will conduct standard character and antecedent verifications. Once cleared, candidates will be formally inducted into the DRDS cadre.
