Exam patterns for IOCL Apprentice are provided below.
Stage 1: Shortlisting & Merit List
- No Written Test / Interview: Selection is purely merit-based.
- Marks Evaluation: Candidates are ranked in descending order based on the aggregate percentage of marks scored in all semesters/years of the prescribed qualifying exam.
- First-Time Applicants: Preference is given to candidates applying for apprenticeship training for the first time.
- Tie-Breaking Criteria: If two or more candidates score the exact same percentage of marks, the tie is broken as follows:
- Seniority in Age: The candidate older in age (earlier Date of Birth) is ranked higher.
- Matriculation Marks: If the Date of Birth is also identical, the candidate with higher marks in Class 10th (Matriculation) gets the higher rank.
Stage 2: Document Verification (DV)
Candidates shortlisted based on the merit list are called for physical document verification. Original documents along with self-attested copies must be furnished, including:
- 10th Pass/Matriculation Certificate (Proof of Date of Birth).
- Marksheets & Degree/Diploma/ITI certificates for all semesters/years.
- CGPA to Percentage conversion certificate from university/institute (if applicable).
