Oxford is hiring a Research Assistant for the Design Bioethics Lab in the Neuroscience, Ethics, and Society (NEUROSEC) Team of the Department of Psychiatry.
This position gives me a unique chance to work with Professor Ilina Singh on internationally acclaimed neuroscience ethics and psychiatric ethics research.
University of Oxford: The NEUROSEC Team
The NEUROSEC Team collaborates with scientists, doctors, and stakeholders.
It oversees independent research projects with a critical eye.
The team’s location in Oxford Psychiatry and Neuroscience encourages interdisciplinary collaboration.
University of Oxford Research Assistant Jobs Responsibility and Role
A Research Assistant in the Design Bioethics Lab (DBL) will contribute to a new framework for theoretical rigour and systematic, scalable empirical bioethics research.
Current efforts develop digital and dialogical methods to investigate value disputes, specifically “What do we owe future generations?”
Climate change and environmental ethics, especially for youth, are included. Projects are co-designed with NeurOX Youth Advisory Group.
You will manage your research and administrative tasks, plan and organise projects, and design research protocols. You will follow senior colleagues’ guidelines and suggest new research topics.
Research Assistant Jobs Skills and Qualifications
- Education: An undergraduate degree in psychology, bioethics, geography, or an empirical social science.
- – Experience: Leading or contributing to a relevant empirical research project.
- Skills include a systematic literature review and AI platform utilisation for a speedy and comprehensive review.
- A master’s degree and expertise in mental health-climate change literature and environmental ethics are desirable.
Extra Information
Duration of Contract: The position is 18 months long, with the possibility of extension.
Pensionable weighting: From September 2024, all grades 1–10 workers get a pensionable Oxford University Weighting of £1,500 (pro rata).
