About the Position: Nottingham
Salary: £31,387–£46,485 per year (pro rata), depending on skills and experience. Candidates with relevant PhDs earn £34,866 per year minimum.
- Performance determines salary above this scale.
Full-time (36.25 hours/week). Part-time work (29 hours per week) is also accepted.
- Fixed-term contract for 3 years
Nottingham University Research Associate/Fellow Jobs Overview of Project
The winner will join Biodiscovery Institute Professors Ian Sayers and Gleb Yakubov’s lab.
The initiative uses lung cell and tissue models and high-throughput CRISPRi screening.
The goal is to uncover functional causal genetic variations, genes, and pathways regulating mucins and characterizing mucus and its cell effects.
These findings will be examined utilizing asthma patient samples.
Research Associate/Fellow Main Duties
- CRISPRi screens and other molecular genetics methods at high throughput.
- Identify and characterize genetic variations in human primary airway cells.
- Develop innovative therapies with multi-institutional researchers.
- Run genomic analyses on massive datasets.
- Publicize research in recognized journals.
Nottingham University Research Associate/Fellow Jobs Candidates Requirements
- Genomic, molecular, or cell biology PhD or equivalent (or near completion).
- Competence in CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, extensive genomic dataset analysis, and other molecular biology methods.
- Research publication history.
- Primary human airway cell culture experience is preferred.
